Christmas at Regina Coeli
The last week of the Autumn term is always very exciting as we come together to celebrate approaching the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ!
The week began with members of our school choir visiting Haling Park Care Home to sing some Christmas songs. The children really enjoyed spending time with members of our local community and sharing some festive cheer with them!
KS2 came together for our annual Carol Service. Children from every class sang songs to retell the Christmas Story. We were so glad that we were able to return to St. Dominic's this year, and it was wonderful to share our celebration with so many members of our Regina Coeli families!
On the last day of term term, Father Martin came to say Mass for the whole school. We came together to give thanks for God's most precious gift as we prepare for the coming of Jesus.
Thank you to Father Simplicio, Father Martin and all of our Regina Coeli families for joining us to make our preparation for Christmas so special!
November 2022 - Remembrance Day
Today we joined in the two minutes silence and remembered those who have lost their lives in conflicts around the world during our Remembrance Day Assembly. Our School Parliament members shared their personal reflections on who they remember and we all thought about the children living in places of conflict around the world.
October 2022 - Harvest Mass
This October we were very happy to be able to hold our Harvest Mass. It was wonderful to be able to come together again in our shared love of our faith and invite parents to come and join us too!
The families at Regina Coeli were incredibly generous and we were overwhelmed with the donations made. Both the Purley Food Hub and Croydon Night Watch were very thankful for the support given by our school family.
We were also extremely grateful to Father. Simplicio from our parish of St. Dominic who came to say Mass for us! Thank you Father. Simplicio!
September 2022 - Macmillan Coffee Morning
A very big thank you to our Year 6 pupils who hosted our Macmillan Coffee Morning for parents! The morning started with a beautiful liturgy which was prepared and led by the pupils. This was followed by an opportunity for parents to share a slice of cake and a hot drink together.
Thanks to the immense generosity of our families we were able to raise £120 for Macmillan cancer support!

RE Creativity Week and Feast Day Celebration
We ended June with our annual RE Creativity Week. This year, we studied different artistic representations of Mother Mary from around the world, and our pupils used them as inspiration for their own artwork. As you can see from the photos below, we have a very talented school of pupils here at Regina Coeli, and the work on their year group displays is stunning!
During RE Creativity Week, our Reception and KS2 took some time to reflect and wonder about Mary, her life and her role in our lives. They had lots of questions, so wrote letters to Mary to find out more about her! Our KS2 pupils took on the role of the teacher, and wrote back to the infants to let them know what they think Mary would have said in response. The children asked such insightful questions, and responded in such a thoughtful way - it really helped bring Mary to life for them!
At the ended of the week, we celebrated with our Feast Day Mass. Father Martin from St. Gertrude's parish and Father Simplicio from St. Dominic's parish said mass for us. Thank you Father Martin and Father Simplicio!
This was followed by the Regina Coeli Family Feast Day on our school field, where parents were invited to join us for lunch after the mass. It was wonderful to be able to hold our annual picnic again for the first time in a couple of years, and we are so appreciative of all the continued support from families, thank you!

Year 6 Liturgy
Father Malachy from Holy Family's parish led a liturgy for our year 6 pupils this week. It was an opportunity for the children to reflect on all the hard work they have done this year, and to speak with the Lord in their hearts as they prepare to sit their SATs.
We are so proud of the pupils in St. Felicity and St. Dominic for their tremendous attitude towards learning!
Thank you Father Malachy!

Give Thanks for the Risen Lord!
We began the summer term with a mass said by Father Simplicio from St. Dominic's parish. The mass celebrated the Risen Life of the Lord, and we gave thanks for Christ's sacrifice at this most holy and special time of year.
This mass was also very important to us because it was the first time we have been able to hold a whole school mass in a while! It was wonderful for all pupils and staff to be able to come together.
Thank you Father Simplicio!

Preparing for Easter at Regina Coeli
In our final week of the spring term, we have been preparing for Easter. Reception and KS1 , and KS2, both led beautiful liturgies, sharing the story of Easter weekend. We shared scripture, prayer and song, and it was a wonderful opportunity to come together to celebrate and give thank for the sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
We have also been learning about the act of Almsgiving during Lent, and will be raising money to support two very important causes: CAFOD's Walk for Hunger Campaign, and CAFOD's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Since the beginning if Lent, pupils have been thinking about the sacrifices they will make during this time in order to raise money to support our global brothers and sisters. The children have designed their own donation envelopes, which we will be collecting when we return from the Easter break.
To end our week of preparation, each class participated in the journey around the stations of the cross, sharing prayer and scripture to reflect upon the pain and suffering Jesus experienced in order that our sins may be forgiven.
From our Regina Coeli family to yours, we hope you have a restful Easter.

Today we were able to celebrate the Epiphany with a Mass specially recorded for us by Father Martin from St. Gertrude's Church. We hope that our school family enjoyed sharing the Mass with us at home too.
Thank you Father Martin!
Friday 17th December 2021
Today we celebrated the coming birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ, with a Mass specially live streamed for us by Father Simplicio from St. Dominic's Church.
We felt so fortunate that we were still able to celebrate Mass, and Kasia, one of our year 6 pupils, wrote a beautiful letter to Father Simplicio to express our thanks.
Thank you Father Simplicio!
November 2021 - Remembrance Day
On Thursday 11th November, we stopped at 11 o'clock for two minutes silence in memory of all those who have sacrificed their lives for us. On Remembrance Day, we came together in prayer as a mark of our respect for the fallen.
We would like to share with you the prayer we said together in school this morning.
Over the past couple of days we have been selling poppies to raise money for The Royal British Legion. Many thanks to all who have supported this cause.

July 2021 - Creativity Week
He who sings prays twice!
In the summer term we had our annual RE Creativity Week. As we had missed singing together so much during the pandemic, we decided that the theme of the week should be based around some of our favourite hymns! In our year groups we spent the week completing differenct actvities based around our hymns and lots of singing, as well as creating these beautiful displays! Can you guess the hymns we chose to celebrate?
