Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire.
MFL
‘The limits of my language are the limits of my world’ - Ludwig Wittgenstein
At Regina Coeli, it is our mission to ensure that all children develop a keen interest and positive curiosity about modern foreign languages (MFL) finding them enjoyable and stimulating. We offer an engaging and comprehensive French curriculum that is both relevant and ambitious, aiming to inspire and excite our pupils through a diverse range of topics and themes. Our teaching provides an appropriate balance of spoken and written language and provides the foundations for further foreign language teaching at key stage 3. It enables pupils to understand and communicate ideas, facts and feelings in speech and writing, focused on familiar and routine matters, using their knowledge of phonology, grammatical structures and vocabulary. Our goal is to support the children in gaining an understanding of different countries and cultures, fostering openness and adaptability to new experiences. Ultimately, we aspire for our pupils to develop a lifelong passion for languages and cultivate curiosity and respect for our wonderful multicultural and multilingual community.
